Creative Approach: The Milestone Initiative, is a campaign created in partnership with DC Comics and Ally Bank, for Black and Diverse inspiring professionals, to open doors for storytellers who’s voices needed to be heard. The premise we paired up DC, relaunch of Milestone Comics with the goal to find the next generation of comic book writers and artists. The campaign begin with an open call to submit your work to be invited by DC to attend an in person week long event at DC offices with DC creators and Ally financial advisors, to kick off an ongoing program of mentorship, resources, and access to learn how to operate in the comic book industry, followed by a several week online courses set to continue the education process.. Through out the year long campaign we produced experiential events with Murals in Detroit and North Carolina, An AR event at SXSW. A Nascar race in Atlanta where the Ally Nascar was skinned with a Milestone Character “Static”. We also created 3 short films a full length documentary for HBOMax, a website, and a 40 page book documenting the entire Initiative.
My role in the Milestone Initiative included overall strategy and campaign rollout. I overall all branding and visual identity for all forms of content. I art-directed all of the visual motion graphics throughout the film. I also worked closely with our Creative and Production team to inform and define the overall campaign message in the film and through all touch points with all of its distribution.
