P&G And BMW Queer City PopUp Museum

Creative Objective: For World Pride Day in NYC, we conceptualized and launched Queer City—an exhibit celebrating the rich history and stories of New York’s LGBTQ+ community, proudly co-sponsored by P&G and BMW. On June 27, 2019, we unveiled a one-day pop-up museum, showcasing over 300 artifacts spanning 80 years of resilience and triumph. The event concluded with a special screening of our documentary, Out of the Shadows. In the two months leading up to the launch, we meticulously collected, designed, and curated content to bring these powerful stories to life.

Case Study

My team was responsible for developing the entire look and feel of the experience. We developed the audience flow through the museum, the floor plan of all the structures, and the placements of all the historical materials. Our museum consultants estimated it would be a 5 year project, we were ablet to accomplish this ask in 3 months, the courageous way.

The work was made possible by:

  • Creative Director: Sean Brown
  • Museum Designer: Marilyn Kam
  • Lead Designer: Marites Algones
  • Directors: Jordan Shavarebi, Nick Brennan
  • Fabricators: Spearhead Marketing
